Showcasing Local and International Artists
"Surrounded by a wealth of Irish music history in the Ward Irish Music Archives, CelticMKE is an intimate listening room where the audience is attentive and invested in the music. As a performer, it felt like the crowd was right there on stage with us - electric. The staff and volunteers were brilliantly organized and giving of their time to myself and Pauline Conneely for our show. I can't wait for the next chance to play in this very special space."
- Dave Curley, Multi-Instrumentalist, Singer & Dancer from Corofin, Co. Galway, Ireland
"What a lovely space. The stage is a nice size, but not overwhelming for smaller groups - with stars...stars as a backdrop! It's easy to connect with my audience here. A very warm, informal feeling in the place. But meanwhile, pro sound and hospitality. Five gold stars to this class venue."
- Shannon Heaton, Irish Traditional Flute Musician from Boston, MA
"My friend and I attended the Tallymoore concert in December. We loved it! The music was great and the band members were humorous and professional. It was a perfect way to put us in the holiday spirit. We'll be back!" - Diane O., Concert Attendee
"My husband and I have attended many events up at the Irish Fest Center (now CelticMKE) over the years. Our favorites have always been the holiday concerts and this past year's concert featuring Tallymoore is no exception. Tallymoore is a young Milwaukee based group that has been a favorite of ours for a number of years now. They do a great mix of traditional Irish music that they put their own spin on as well as some new material of their own like, "I'm a Tommy Makem Man." For this concert they played all the favorites but mixed them in with some great holiday music as well. It is a great way to get in the holiday mood.
The concert venue at CelticMKE is really nice and intimate. There are great sight lines from all areas of the room and they do a really good job with the sound system. There is a cash bar (and on this night, they had a second set up to accommodate the number of people) that serves beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. What makes CelticMKE great is the people running it. They are friendly, welcoming and you can tell they enjoy what they are doing. What makes the holiday concert even better is that they do a food collection at it for the local food pantry. A wonderful gesture during the holiday season. My husband and I live in a northern suburb of Chicago but love coming up to Milwaukee for Irish Fest as well as the events at the CelticMKE Center." - Mary G., Concert Attendee, Morton Grove, IL
